Physiotherapists
Shannon Estabrooks, BScBio, BScPT, Dip Sport PT
Shannon, the
Director of ActiveLife, graduated from Dalhousie University's physiotherapy
program in 1996. She is one of only five in NS with a Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy, the highest level
attainable through Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC), has been
an active member of SPC's NS and national executive boards and teaches the Sport Physiotherapy module at Dalhousie University. She has provided
sports injury care to elite athletes at national & international events & is a physio provider for the Canadian Sport Centre-Atlantic. She teaches Hockey Canada's Safety program and has been the Weeks Junior A Crushers team therapist since 2003.
She was selected the "2007 Physiotherapist of the Year" by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
John Robert (JR) Marshall, BScPT JR graduated from Dalhousie University's School of Physiotherapy in 2006 and since that time has gained valuable experience in both the public and private sectors. JR has been active in the sports community as team therapist for both the Weeks Major Midget Hockey Club and the MacGregor Kinsmen Midget AAA Baseball Team. He is also acts as the Clinical Director of FUNFitness for Special Olympics Nova Scotia. He has completed courses in orthopedic and manual therapy, acupuncture, golf injury prevention and rehabilitation and is currently completing his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy. Massage Therapists
Lina Skoke Woods, Diploma in Massage Therapy
Lina graduated from the massage therapy program at Northumberland College in
Halifax in 2002 and has practiced in Pictou County since. She has
specialized training in pregnancy massage and sports nutrition. She has
post-graduate study plans in sports massage and is a sports
massage -certification candidate and has provided massage at numerous
sporting events. She has also participated in outreach events focusing on
Parkinson's, MS, women's health and the elderly. Lina spends her days off
enjoying her husband and two small children. She also has a small dog who
gets her out for walks rain or shine.
Pedorthist
Carol Ann Sweeney, BScHK, C. Ped Tech., C. Ped (C)
Carol Ann graduated from the University of Guelph in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (Honours) degree.
Following graduation, she began working in the area of ergonomics in Gander, Newfoundland. After three years, she moved to Brandon, Manitoba where she was first introduced to the field of Pedorthics.
Carol Ann began to focus on pedorthics full time in 2000 and obtained her Pedorthic Technician certification in 2002 and obtained her Canadian Certified Pedorthic certification in 2007. In her free time, she enjoys
spending time outdoors with her two young children.

Heather graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics degree and joined ActiveLife just two months later!
