"HOCKEY OFF-SEASON"

As the hockey season comes to an end, we enter the “off-season”. The off-season is the ideal time period to have nagging injuries addressed and begin preparing for the next season. Part of the preparation for next season must come in the form of fitness training. Having a fitness program designed to meet your particular needs and goals is important. Questions to ask yourself include:
• When does your season start and when do you want to be in top shape? You want to "peak" at the right time, therefore you need to plan your workouts based on the duration of your off-season.
• What are your goals for conditioning? Need to be stronger? Faster?
• What are your strengths and weaknesses?
• What injuries did you sustain this past season? What are your “weak-links”?

When you answer all these questions, you begin to understand what your training program should focus on. A physiotherapist with a sports background can assess your strength, flexibility and injuries and help you plan a successful off-season training program. Call 752-9926 to book an appointment.
